Rigs (Hardware)
Hardware rigs that provide HDD and RAM capacity — your foundation for everything.
Rigs Overview
Rigs are hardware permanents that provide HDD and RAM capacity. Without rigs, you have no storage and no processing power. Upgrading rigs is the single most impactful progression step.

Cost Efficiency
Which rig gives you the most capacity per money spent?
| Rig | HDD per 1K Money | RAM per 1K Money | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dedicated Tor Node | 6,389 | 284 | Cheapest entry |
| Polish Server | 8,280 | 410 | Budget HDD |
| Repurposed Mining Rig | 9,200 | 585 | Best link slots |
| Icelandic Datacenter Node | 7,667 | 533 | Balanced |
| Data Center Rack | 5,271 | 375 | Classic choice |
| Co-location Rack | 6,161 | 429 | High capacity |
| Superprocessor Mainframe | 1,717 | 107 | Max capacity |
The Repurposed Mining Rig is the most cost-efficient by raw HDD/money ratio. However, the Data Center Rack remains the best overall first upgrade due to its high absolute capacity.
The Superprocessor Mainframe is expensive per unit but provides the highest absolute capacity and link slots.
Buy Orders
Rigs are acquired by running Buy Order executable cards. Each buy order is a thread that resolves into the corresponding rig permanent. Buy orders have minimal HDD/RAM costs (50–255 HDD, 1–4 RAM) — the real cost is money.
Link Slots
Each rig has link slots where software permanents can be attached. Link slots are used for:
- Linking Memecoin Central or Stablecoin Market to Crypto Wallet
- Attaching software constructs to hardware infrastructure
More link slots = more flexibility for complex card setups. The Repurposed Mining Rig (6 slots) and Superprocessor Mainframe (8 slots) are best for complex builds.
Upgrade Strategy
- Dan’s Laptop → Polish Server or Dedicated Tor Node — cheapest capacity boost if you can’t afford Data Center Rack yet
- Dan’s Laptop → Data Center Rack — the standard first major upgrade. Save up 12,000 money
- Data Center Rack → Co-location Rack or Superprocessor Mainframe — when you need more capacity for advanced card trees and batch merging
- Multiple rigs stack — you can have multiple rigs mounted simultaneously. Two Data Center Racks = 126,500 HDD and 9,000 RAM
Tips
- Upgrade early — the ROI on rig upgrades far exceeds any other investment
- Don’t hoard on Dan’s Laptop — you’ll quickly run out of HDD and RAM
- Link slots matter — plan your permanent layout around available link slots
- Consider intermediate rigs — Polish Server (2,500 money) is achievable much earlier than Data Center Rack (12,000 money)
- Mainframe is endgame — 75,000 money is a huge investment. Make sure you’ve established income streams first
