Cards

Network Tree (Malware)

Malware cards injected by attacks — what they do and how to remove them.

Network Tree Overview

The Network tree contains malware permanents — cards that are injected into your game by adversary attacks or PvP hack spells. You don’t play these yourself; they’re inflicted on you.

All malware:

  • Tags: permanent, software, malware
  • Drain HDD and/or RAM capacity while mounted
  • Cannot be normally unmounted
  • Removed only by Entropy Wipe (Data tree spell)

Malware Cards

Net Malformed Packet

The weakest malware. Injected by adversary attacks using the Malformed Packet spell.

PropertyValue
HDD Drain20
RAM Drain10
Injected ByAdversary Malformed Packet attacks

Net Trojan

Moderate malware with significant RAM drain. Injected by the Trojan hack spell (Level 2).

PropertyValue
HDD Drain10
RAM Drain102
Injected ByTrojan spell (Hack Level 2)

Net BIOS Exploit

Heavy malware with balanced drain. Injected by the BIOS Exploit hack spell (Level 3).

PropertyValue
HDD Drain128
RAM Drain68
Injected ByBIOS Exploit spell (Hack Level 3)

Net Memory Leak

The most damaging malware — massive RAM drain. Injected by the Memory Leak Exploit (Data tree).

Multiple malware can stack — three Net Trojans would drain 30 HDD + 306 RAM.

Removal Options

Entropy Wipe (Data tree) — removes ALL malware permanents in one cast:

  • Cost: 2 Basic Data Shards + 153 HDD + 77 RAM
  • Duration: 12 hours
  • Best for: clearing multiple malware at once

Packet Sniffer (Data tree) — removes a single Net Malformed Packet:

  • Cost: 1 Basic Data Shard + 51 HDD + 3 RAM
  • Duration: 24 hours
  • Best for: targeted removal of weak malware without spending 2 shards

Tips

  • Check your permanents regularly — malware appears silently when network threads resolve
  • Keep Entropy Wipe materials ready — 2 Basic Data Shards should always be stockpiled
  • RAM drain is worse than HDD drain — it limits how many threads you can run
  • Net Memory Leak is an emergency — 510 RAM drain can cripple your operations; cast Entropy Wipe immediately
